Baby Einstein - My First SignsReviewsMy little one enjoyed watching the video. It's good for your basic sign language skills. This was a great gift to give my friend who was having her first baby. I can't wait to see how it works! baby einstein-my first signs is cool, the first time I popped it in my 9 month old sat right down and started watching it, and he's learning to sign, so it's cool This was our first experience with baby sign language, and it's fine, but it's not terribly thorough. If you are wanting a more inclusive repertoire of signs then this is not the right choice for you. I'm very happy I bought this product. My nephew have been watching it every couple days, sometimes more than once a day and he's picking up signs rather quickly. It's great to hear him say and sign 'Go!' and then take off running. Baby Einstein - Baby's Favorite Places - First Words Around TownReviewsBought this and a few other Baby Einstein books and DVDs for my little niece. My sister can't believe how quickly she learned from these. Now she is well ahead of the other kids in her age group. Also, her mom likes to have these DVDs just playing in the background instead of regular TV. I bought this video for a 2 year old who is high energy and slower in speech. I have heard of Baby Einstein, but have not tried it before. The puppets and music is entertaining and she learned some new vocabulary words. My 2 year old is almost 3 so this is more appropriate for her age, but not for younger babies. There are very good vocabulary videos for the almost 3 set like Four Baby Bumblebees and Brainy Yogis: Everyday Words which illustrate the meaning of the words a little clearer. I found getting the Baby Einstein flashcards and board book helpful, too. As the mom of a toddler, I have found this to be a very helpful learning tool for both of us. This is, as far as I can tell, the third in a series of sign language and verbal skills DVD's. As the title implies, this DVD covers words for places that parents often take their babies and toddlers every day...around town. It teaches words and signs such as bank, library, sidewalk, school, swing, slide, etc. I wouldn't recommend it for a younger baby. We purchased it when our daughter was 20 months and she took right to it. She is now 25 months, and she enjoys the older kids performing the signs, and I as a parent appreciate Marlee Matlin's clear signing directions. I read the critical reviews before purchasing this. If this is your first sign language DVD, I would recommend getting Baby Einstein's "First Signs," which includes simple words like mommy, daddy, baby, cereal, ball, more, all done, etc. Then watch "Baby Wordsworth" which adds words like cat, dog, clock, computer, chair, lamp, etc. Then "First Words Around Town," this DVD. Just like with a movie series, you want to watch the first one before watching the sequels. If you are planning to just turn this on and leave the room, then it probably isn't for you. However, if your goal is to teach your child sign language and verbal skills, while you learn at the same time, this is a great tool. Learn with your child and then reinforce when you are visiting the places around your town. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that I think the age recommendation should be 18 months and up instead of 12. We couldn't be more disappointed with this product. The opening credits put us all to sleep. Nana, Mommie, and Baby could not sit through even half of the DVD. Baby Signing Times are delightful, and we assumed this would be better. Boy were we wrong!! I bought this to help my grandson who could not talk to communicate. It became very frustrating for both of us when he wanted a drink or something to eat. It made it difficult to potty train him. This helped our communication a lot and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has small children with or without speech problems. He still uses some of the signs and his speech has come a long way since. Average Rating:![]() |

Elmo's World - Elmo Has TwoReviewsDid not get a confirmation from them until Amazon sent me an email saying that my credit card would not be charged because the seller did not respond. The next day the confirmation from miasgramma came. That was 8 days after I ordered the DVD. Amazons policy states to be a seller through Amazon you are to ship the item within 2 days of receiving the order. Then after the 8 days the item was not shipped for another 10 days. I receive it 3 days later. It took 3 weeks and only 3 days of that was shipping. Can't blame this one on the post office or delayed mail, just on poor customer service. Would not order from miasgramma again! I purchased this for my 2yr old grandaughter. She LOVES it! She loves to get up and imitate Mr Noodle. She also counts along with them. My 14 month old follows this dvd all the way through. she loves it. it keeps her attention. My 16 month old loves this - he got this for his first birthday - he just started getting into Elmo around 14 months or so, but he loves this one. He really likes the beginning when it talks about hands. I bought this for my baby and as long as she loves it and is kept entertained by it then it's all good to me. I know some people reviewed Elmo DVDs as stupid or lame but is it for them or for their kids to be entertained? I would agree if I was buying it for myself then would also I find it lame but it's NOT for me. It's for my baby and as long as she is happy then that's all good for me. That being said, I find Elmo very witty because some of the comments he makes only an adult would understand. Peace out. Average Rating:![]() |

Makita HR2455X 1-Inch D-Handle Rotary Hammer DrillReviewsI've been comparing different SDS-Plus rotary hammers over the last week for re-wiring houses. This one is at the bottom of the price/capability range I've been considering so I didn't expect much from it. That said, it managed to impress me anyway. This product is a direct competitor (some would say shameless rip-off) to Bosch's 11255VSR "Bulldog Extreme". I timed how long each of the rotary hammers took to drill 7/8" holes through 4" concrete as well as hollow (cinder) block. Just for fun, I also managed to fit the same bit into my Makita Li-ion cordless hammer drill to see just how much faster a real rotary hammer is compared to a hammer drill. The answer is: about 10-18x faster on average. The cordless took 72 seconds to drill through cinder block; the HR2455 took between 4 and 7 seconds. I imagine that if you have to install a whole lot of Tap-Cons, wedge anchors and such up to about 5/8" diameter as part of your job this rotary hammer will serve you extremely well. Keep in mind, though, that I have no idea how long it will last - this is more of a first impressions kind of review! It also performed very well at removing wall tiles from my shower (using a Bosch HS1465 tile chisel bit). One big downside in this application is that the chuck (bit holder) prevents the bit from rotating freely while in hammer-only mode. If you want to attack the tiles from a different direction you first need to let the drill stop, then change modes, then rotate the chisel to the desired orientation, then change back into hammer mode and resume chiseling. This really got on my nerves after having to do it about the tenth time so I guess the best solution is to try to plan your chiseling a bit better. Note that most SDS-plus rotary hammers seem to have the same "feature" so this is not a problem unique to the HR2455X. Final notes: the tool remained cool and the vibration was manageable the entire time I used it (in contrast to, for example, Bosch's more powerful 11236VS, which got very hot after maybe 15 minutes of use). It took an average of 45 seconds to drill 7/8" holes into 4" thick fully cured concrete and pure chiseling performance (into the same) was also fairly lackluster. This is pushing the capability of the tool, though. I paid $179+tx from Jim & Slim's tools, an online as well as local to me pro tool store. Average Rating:![]() |

Signs (Vista Series)ReviewsLike many said some things in the film don't make sense. But the feeling you get when you watch it is amazing. You can almost feel like its real. The fear some sense give you is not a dumb fear like in an horror movie is the fear you get in real life. In Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Colleen Hess, the wife of local priest Reverend Graham Hess, dies a horrific death in a traffic accident. After the accident, Graham denounces his faith and his vocation to work full time on his farm. His brother, Merrill, a former minor league baseball player known more for his batting brawn than his finesse, moves into the farmhouse to assist his brother in looking after Graham's two adolescent children, asthmatic son Morgan and daughter Bo, who has a finicky taste for water. Six months after the accident, crop circles appear in Graham's corn field. They initially speculate that local trouble-making youth could be the culprits. However they learn that theirs is only one of a number of crop circles made simultaneously worldwide. In addition, animals have been acting erratically. Morgan and Bo seem to have a better sense of what is happening than the adults. Based on other evidence, the family slowly begins to believe that the crop circles are only one of many signs being sent by extraterrestrials. Not knowing if the extraterrestrials are friendly or not, the Hesses take extreme precautions to protect themselves. Graham also begins to believe that nothing that happens is by chance, and that everything has a reason. This nervous and paranoid movie with a heart-pounding ending, is terrific. You too, will enjoy the ride. Yes, a suspenseful thriller and fine family entertainment at the same time! No grossouts, no blood and guts but a chilling, edge-of-the-seat movie that literally hypnotizes you to wait to see what's going to happen to the beseiged family at an isolated farmhouse. Alien creatures stalk outside while a former priest who has lost his faith, his brother who searches for a goal in life and the priest's motherless two small children anxiously await doomsday. I watched it again for the third time the other night and highly recommend it to new viewers. The Winds of Hell I love this movie. I've watched it too many times to count. I've finally decided to buy it. Complex plotting with intertwined back stories of love, loss and religion. Watch it again to see what you missed. M. Night's subtle "signs" weaved throughout the movie are worth rewatching to catch and explore. Ready for the next installment! An alien invasion of Earth makes a lapsed clergyman reexamine the doubts he has about his faith. Sort of a cross between "War of the Worlds" and "ET", except the focus is not so much on the aliens (must they always be slender and bug-eyed?) as on the Mel Gibson character, whose wifes' accidental death had led him to leave the ministry. Plot is a bit incoherent, but characters are compelling. Average Rating:![]() |

Charmed - The Complete Second SeasonReviewsThis compelete second season has everyone on their seat from one spell to the next and honestly i cant wait to own all eight seasons of charmed. I was pleased with the accuracy in which the products condition was described and also the great condition that the the product was actually in, thank you for your services. Season 2 definitely improved upon the foundation laid by the 1st season! Each sister has an interesting back storyline that ran throughout the season: Pru realized a life long desire of becoming a professional photographer, Piper became a club owner AND experienced a love dilemma having to choose between Leo & Dan and Phoebe returned to college. Also Pru developed a new power, astral projection which definitely added excitement to some of the episodes where the power was featured. The only complaint that I have about this set is the fact that there are no extras or a "play all" option which would allow greater ease watching the entire disc in one setting. The skills of all three actresses improved this season as they were able to display greater range in their comedic as well as dramatic acting. I loved that when an episode focused on one sister, that particular actress stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. Of the 22 episodes, I only hate to watch 3: THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC, ANIMAL PRAGMATISM & THE DEVIL'S MUSIC. My favorite episodes are: WITCH TRIAL (the season premiere) - a still grieving Pru faces her guilt about Andy's death while the sisters face a powerful demon that resurrects demons they'd already vanquished in Season 1 MORALITY BITES - (Phoebe centered) - when the Sisters use magic to teach a pest a lesson, they time travel to the future to see how the action eventually costs Phoebe her life P3H2O - the Sisters unearth a secret about their mother's death AWAKENED - (Piper centered) - Piper's life is in jeopardy and no magical solution is available...or is there? PARDON MY PAST - (Phoebe centered) - Phoebe's past life warns her about her impending death so she time travels to the past to unravel the clues CHICK FLICK (one of my all-time faves) - a very clever episode concerning a demon who injects horror movie viewers with rage. I especially love the scenes when the sisters battle the horror stars MS HELLFIRE - brings back one of my favorite demons, Barbas & a love interest for Pru (Antonio Sabbato as "Bane") - this episode features Pru masquerading as a hit woman to find out who ordered a human to kill the sisters BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WITCH FOR - (season finale) another episode that mixes comedy with the drama so effortlessly. A genie tricks the sisters into wishing so that he can be free with disastrous results. Also Piper goes up in a swirl of lights with Leo and we are left wondering if she will return. All in all this is a great season which gives me as much enjoyment today as when I initially watched them. This season is great too. I cried during "Awakened" due to Piper being my favorite Charmed One. As I said in review of season 1, I watched each episode three times. I stretch the viewing out as I don't want to go through the seasons to quickly. Love this series and for only $10!!!! Skips a little but usually costs $60! Average Rating:![]() |

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE Warning Sign with 3M Reflective Vinyl Coating "12x18"ReviewsThis sign is durable, large and perfect for my application. The print is clear and readable from a good distance. Would order again from this supplier. Only complaint I have is that each sign has a sticky label attached to it with product number and this label is impossible to remove without leaving sticky residue which collects dirt and looks bad Professionally made product. Industrial Strength. This is my second purchase. Although there are many, more inexpensive surveillance signs online, I selected this product for its overall quality and long term value. The 3M reflective vinyl coating reflects headlights brightly even at a distance. I mounted these signs on my front rod iron gate, porch balcony, Back Wooden Gate, and on stucco siding. The aluminum backing is of heavy gauge and does not bend easily. Two small hole are pre-drilled in the middle at the top and bottom to use screws or zip ties. Need to make a puncture through the vinyl coating to access the hole. I mount these signs with Zip ties and 3M Exterior Mounting Tape in the back. The sign size and camera graphics provide clear warning to ward off intruders. Average Rating:![]() |
